Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko is a Muay Thai boxer started her professional fight career during her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina continued her career by getting bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011 and the 2016 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she won the WMC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by a an unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut took place in 2002, at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious with a TKO in the second round and was able to take home two subsequent bouts and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. It gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko was a dedicated kickboxer as she took a prolonged break in MMA. She came back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a unanimous vote after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina displayed her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera using knees. In the aftermath of this victory, Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight by unanimous decision, but she lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to beat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights but then lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina has recently been knocked down by a TKO in the second round, losing to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
